Why Faroe Islands?

Welcome to Mikkeller Beer Celebration Faroe Islands (MBCFI) – an exciting beer fest in the heart of Torshavn, Faroe Islands. MBCFI stands out as one of just three Mikkeller Beer Celebrations worldwide, alongside Denmark and Japan.

Torshavn holds a special place in Founder and CEO of Mikkeller, Mikkel Bjergsø's heart, which was marked by the opening of a bar in 2017. Mikkel is a frequent visitor to the Faroe Islands, actively supports and helps the local brewery OY Brewing.

MBCFI isn't just about beer; it's an experience for both locals and beer enthusiasts. Set against the stunning backdrop of Torshavn's harbor in the Silo, the festival will feature 25 international breweries from Europe, the USA, and, of course, the Faroe Islands. Each brewery will showcase 8 different beers across four sessions.

When and where will Mikkeller Beer Celebration Faroe Islands take place?

The festival will be held on the 11th and 12th of October 2024. It takes place at 15 Vestara Bryggja, Tórshavn 100, Faroe Islands.
Yellow  session - is from 12:00 - 15:00 (12-3pm) - Friday 11th of October 
‍Blue session - is from 16:00 - 19:00 (4-7pm) - Friday 11th of October 
‍Red session - is from is from 12:00 - 15:00 (12-3pm) - Saturday 12th of October 
Green session - is from is from 16:00 - 19:00 (4-7pm) - Saturday 12th of October 

What is a session and what does it include?

Free Bar Concept: Unlike other beer festivals that use a token system, MBCFI employs a ‘free bar’ concept. Attendees are not required to purchase tokens for samples. Instead, you can freely explore and taste the diverse range of beers.

Access to Breweries: Each session features a variety of 25 breweries from around the world. Brewers bring their unique and often rare or special beers for attendees to savor.

Session Structure: The festival is organized into sessions of three hours, and you can purchase tickets for one or more sessions. Each session introduces new beers from participating breweries, ensuring there’s always something new and exciting to taste.

Are the tickets personal?

It does not matter if your name or someone else's name is on the ticket. However, be cautious of ticket scams and consider using platforms that allow secure ticket transfers.

What is the age limit for the festival?

You must be 18 or over to enter the beer celebration. Children are welcome in the company of adults. But please consider the circumstances and the atmosphere.

Is the beer for free when I enter the festival?

Oh yes! Once you enter the festival, all beers are included. You are free to explore all the different kinds of beers on the festival. If you prefer a full-sized beer, you are more than welcome to order one in Lager land ,or you can go to our outdoor public bar where you can purchase beers next to your food, all beers inside the MBCFI venue are complimentary.

Are dogs allowed?

No, we're sorry! Dogs cannot be accommodated at MBCFI due to the serving of food and drinks.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, children are welcome in the company of adults. But please consider the circumstances and the atmosphere.

Is there any food at the fest?

Certainly! There will be a diverse selection of food options available at all times during MBCFI, including a food court with around 5 food choices. So plenty of options to choose from for everyone!
